2ND OPERATIONAL READDINESS FOR ECOMMERCE (ORE) WORKSHOP
PAPU and UPU are jointly organizing the 2nd ORE Workshop in Arusha, the United Republic of Tanzania from 6th to 10th November, 2017.
The objective of the workshop is to validate member countries’ road maps as well as action plans for the project using templates which were distributed during the 1st ORE Workshop in May, 2017, in Nairobi Kenya.
Validation will be done with the assistance of facilitators from PAPU, the UPU Regional office for East & Southern Africa and the IB of the UPU.
The workshop has attracted over sixty (60) participants from 21 English speaking African countries.
For Member States to effectively implement e-commerce, there are some basic requirements and activities that need to be fulfilled and undertaken, namely: meeting minimum operational requirements; ensuring visibility and data quality compliance; supply chain integration; among others.
Thus, to fully equip members with the knowledge and skills to move towards effective implementation of e-commerce, the workshop will focus on the following topics: QSF project formulation; IPS and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) messages & data compliance, Integrated Product Plan (IPP) implementation, Remuneration (letter post and parcel post), just to mention a few.
So far, the workshop is progressing smoothly.
French speaking countries will meet in Yaoundé (Cameroon) from 4 to 8 December 2017.
