Postal CEOs meet in Cairo to tackle transformation of the sector
The Postal Transformation Forum for African CEOs coupled with the Preparatory Meeting for the UPU World CEO Forum slated for September 2017 in Moscow (Russia) kicked off on 14th August 2017 in Cairo (Egypt). With the UPU Director General, Bishar Hussein, in attendance, participants will spend the next two days exploring various topics dealing with the “Transformation of Africa’s post and its position on the global arena”. These include e-commerce, e-services, financial services, operational capacity building, automation of postal activities and postal addressing.
In his address during the opening ceremony, the SG of the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU), Mr. Younouss Djibrine, conveyed his heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the CEO of Egypt Post, Mr. Elsaghir Essam Mohamed, for organizing this maiden meeting and urged participants to engage in open and frank dialogue on each of the topics, so that Africa’s postal fraternity can add economic value and contribute effectively to the socioeconomic advancement of the continent.
On Africa’s participation in the upcoming World CEO Forum in Moscow (Russia) from 17th to 19th September 2017, Mr. Younouss Djibrine requested all participants to engage actively in the debate on the future of Africa’s postal sector and its position on the global arena. “We do hope that Africa’s postal fraternity will take its cue from this Cairo meeting to speak with one voice. United, we are stronger… Together we will build a brighter future,” he concluded.
